Update: 7 months
Dear Lily,
Yesterday you turned 7 months old! You have accomplished so much this month. We had your six month doctor visit a few weeks ago. Here are your stats:
Weight - 19 lbs 8 oz (92nd percentile)
Height - 2 ft 2.5 in (62nd percentile)
This month you have started eating three solid meals per day. You have taken well to solid foods. You eat oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, veggies and fruit for lunch, and rice and veggies for dinner. It seems like you are eating all the time these days which is good because you are probably burning a lot of calories. You are very active and very busy now. When we hold you in a standing position you love to jump up and down. You are VERY close to crawling. You always get up on all fours and rock back and forth. At this point you can only scoot backwards and your toys get further away from you. We will keep encouraging you and I'm sure you will figure it out soon.
You have also made major developments in language. You definitely understand "Mommy" and "milk." We aren't sure if you understand "Daddy" yet. We have introduced a few baby signs to you. You understand and are starting to sign "milk." We have to be careful because if Mommy or Daddy signs or even says the word "milk" you start to whine. You imitate waving "bye-bye" and you seem very proud of this accomplishment. Your play skills have also changed a lot in the past month. You can pick up everything and explore it. This week you started banging two blocks together. If we tell you to "shake shake shake" you start shaking your toy.
Your babble has exploded this month. You can now say "mamama," "bababa," "nanana," and "yayaya." You love to hang out in your crib and talk. As for sleeping, you are finally sleeping through the night! Yay! This is great news for Mommy. However, now that you are sleeping so well at night, you have decided that you don't need naps. Some days you nap well and some days you hardly nap at all.
Yesterday Daddy and I thought it would be fun to have a photo shoot with you as our subject. A few of the pictures came out okay. I think we got a good one for your first Christmas card. Here are a few that didn't make the cut.
You are the most fun to be around! I love you oodles and oodles!
Love,
Mom

Sippy Cup
We've introduced the sippy cup to get you used to the fact that there
is more than one place from which to get your fluids.

Zzzzzzz
We were just about to go on a walk when you fell asleep in the stroller.
I know enough about parenting at this point to know that I'm not
messing with this.
Brrrrrrring
You've learned is the last couple of days that when you pull the
string on your toy phone, the phone comes to you. Even though there
are no more rotary phones Mommy and I had the same one when we were
kids and I couldn't leave the store without it.

Almost crawling
So ready to crawl. You can balance on all fours but you haven't yet
figured out how to move forward. Keep working on it.

First Halloween
Dear Lily,
You were a pumpkin for your first Halloween. We think you looked kind of silly but you seemed to like your costume. Thank you Leigh for letting us borrow the costume! We had a great day. We went out to lunch and shopping with Mike and Julie then we went home to welcome the trick or treaters.
We took a family photo with you as a pumpkin, Bowie dressed as Darth Vader, and Scout as Yoda. What a motley crew!

Love,
Mom
