Rabbit foot

When I was cleaning out a drawer of old random things, I came across Daddy's old rabbit foot key chain (which seems gross now but it was all the rage in the 80's). I told you that it was a rabbit's foot. You promptly took it out of my hand and left the room. Later on Daddy came across this scene in the bathroom. You carefully placed the rabbit's foot next to the rabbit complete with rabbit food. You didn't even say anything about putting the foot there. This is exactly how Daddy found it.

Big Sister, Meet Little Brother

Looks like you're going to be a big sister. Here is one of the first pictures of your baby brother.

"I Ain't Goin' Easy"

Update: 22 months

Dear Lily,
Yesterday was Valentine's Day and your 22 month birthday. Yesterday we spent the morning and first day of spring-like weather at the zoo. You explored every bit of the outside world as if you had never seen it before (it has been a very long winter). Our days seem to get busier and fuller every day. Lately you plead and plead to play at "Lily's house." In the morning you don't want to get out of your pajamas because you want to stay at your house and play. When we are in the car returning home you incessantly chant "Lily's house." I'm glad you love your house but I'm hoping you see there is much more to explore outside of your house.

Your imagination continues to grow. The other day you pretended to put gas in your little ride on car. Then you drove off and said "bye-bye going to feed Amy's cats." You are talking so much. Some sentences that I can think of are:
"I see two peacocks"
"Good-bye, see you later"
"How are you today?"
"Wake up time to eat"
"I don't know"
"Help Mommy"
"Daddy go to work"
"Daddy so funny"
"Elmo so cute"
"That not Lily's car"
"Zoo balloon go up summertime"
"Baby in Mommy's tummy, not Daddy's"

If we say something is funny you do this silly fake laugh. You love to pretend you are a bunny and hop (which you also say is "so funny"). You have started to grasp that a new baby is coming. Yesterday you decided which of your many stuffed animals you would share with your baby brother. You are very good at sharing and cleaning up. Your teachers say you are the best student who always listens and follows directions. You have been giving Mommy and Daddy a hard time at home lately. You have started to have frequent temper trantrums when you don't get your way. We keep telling you that we love you and hopefully you will soon see that all we want is what's best for you. For now, I understand you are expressing yourself in the most natural way for you. But seriously, we are ready for this phase to pass. We love you with all our heart.

Love,
Mommy
