Trip to the Zoo
Kids,
A few weeks ago there was a somewhat warm and sunny day, otherwise known as a gift for February in Seattle. We took advantage of the sun and spent the whole day at the zoo. We had a great time. Here are some photos:

Rio Update: 8 Months
Dear Rio,
Yesterday you turned 8 months old! Your little personality is starting to reveal itself. You are a happy, curious, social, and sweet little guy. You are generally happy as long as you are not alone (which I can't blame you for). If I take something away that you can't have, you let out a shriek that dolphins probably respond to, but you are easily distracted and quickly calm down. You are curious about what every single thing feels like and tastes like. You may be on a mission to touch and taste every object in this house. You are very close to crawling. You spend a lot of time on all fours rocking back and forth getting ready to start moving. You have mastered sitting up and rolling over.
You continue to eat twice a day. You are much more interested in what everyone else is eating. You're little fingers often make their way to my plate. You like eating bread and waffles and apple slices. A few weeks ago you got your first two bottom teeth!! I think the top ones are coming any day now. As for sleep, we still have some work to do. You still go to sleep on your own at 7:15 every night. I just need to figure out how to help you to fall back asleep at night without nursing. You generally wake at 2:00, 4:00 and 6:30am to eat.
You are in awe of your big sister. You always have your eye on her. You want so badly to jump right in and start playing with her. She is very sweet to you. She brings you toys and sings to you when you cry. She isn't quite ready for you to play with her toys but we'll keep working on that one. We are so proud of all that you are learning.
Love you,
Mama
