Dear Rio,
Today you turned four months old. You are one cool little dude. Much has happened in your short life so far, but we are now settled in our new home in Seattle. I have not gone back to work yet and I treasure this time we have together. I have finally started to figure you out. You are an easy going and happy baby (unless you are tired, have gas, or need to poop). You give fairly clear signs for each of these scenarios which makes things easier on me. You never cry for more than a few minutes and can always be calmed down by walking around. The biggest news this month is your smile and laugh. Every time you see someone smile at you, you give a big smile back. You have started to giggle. You particularly like the horsey game and wheels on the bus song. You have started making so many sounds. You make a lot of vowel sounds and an occasional "ga," "ma," or "na." Your hands have found their way to your mouth. You are starting to hold objects and bring them to your mouth. You have a way of reaching out and grabbing anything in the near area. Place mats and anything that belongs to Lily have become a challenge to grab that you have readily accepted.
You love to be on the go. If you are a little fussy at home you calm down as soon as I put you in your car seat. It's a good thing that you are so easy going on our outings because I drag you out to your sister's events every single day. It's because of your sister that a four month old, such as yourself, has already been to the zoo, a variety of museums, playgrounds, and parks.
You are still an excellent sleeper. You are in bed every night at 7:30. You wake up around 12:30 and 4:00 to eat, but I'm not too sure you are really hungry. You whine a little, I feed your for about five minutes, then you are right back to sleep. I'm hoping your eagerness to sleep continues.
You love to watch and smile at Lily. You are the perfect little baby to complete this family. I love you so much!
Love,
Mama
